Music Ministry

The St. Francis de Sales Music Ministry serves the parish sharing their vocal and/or instrumental talents to Glorify God!  Through musical prayer we enhance the Liturgies as instrumentalists, choir and cantors striving to bring all present to deeper worship.  Music Ministry’s primary purpose is to encourage all parishioners to full, active, and conscious participation.  We have been blessed to be “the parish that sings” and pray that all allow the Holy Spirit to work through them to continue to Praise and Worship God by lifting up our voice.

Traditional Choir

The Traditional Choir is blessed to bring the Word of God to the parish through Music.  This choir is comprised of all ages ranging from fourteen to ninety.  They humbly share their talent at the 11:00am Sunday Mass.  Practices are regularly held in the church on Wednesdays 7:00pm-9:00pm September-May.  The choir members commitment is shown in attendance of additional practices to prepare for special Liturgies and Liturgical Seasons when needed. We welcome interested individuals to join us in serving the parish.

Youth Choir

Children of the parish in grades two through eight are invited to join the Youth Choir.  This choir of young music minsters serves the assembly once a month at the 9:00am Sunday Mass.  Practice is held usually the Friday prior to assigned Mass in the Mobile Music Room.  Practice begins at 4:50pm and ends at 5:40pm. The youth in this choir humbly serve lifting all hearts to be closer to God.

Children's Christmas Choir

The Children’s Christmas Choir invites all parish youth in grades two-eighth to join.  This choir prepares during Advent and has 3-4 practices on Friday evenings 5:00-6:00pm to prepare for Christ’s Birth. The children sing at the 4:00pm Christmas Eve Mass. The Children’s Christmas Choir is separate commitment from the Youth Choir.  Join us as we Glorify Emmanuel-God With Us!

High School/College Choir

This choir invites voices that range from eighth grade, current high school and college aged young adults to be part of this ministry.  The commitment meets their schedules and practice occurs at 10:00am the assigned Sunday.    This choir then ministers at the 11:00am Sunday Mass that same day.

Cantors

Cantors are Individuals that are called to lead the assembly in the absence of a choir.  They humbly and prayerfully serve encouraging the voice of the assembly to Praise God.  Cantors must prepare for Liturgies in advance as well as be comfortable learning and teaching new music.  They need to be available and willing to practice collectively when needed.

Instrumentalists

Individuals that have been blessed with the proficient talent in playing an instrument are humbly asked to serve the parish.  Instrumentalists should be prepared to solo, accompany piano, organ as well as the traditional choir. Interested individuals can contact the Director of Music for consideration to serve in this capacity Glorifying God.
