Jesus said…“I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now.
But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth.”
Thanks be to God for these words from this weekend’s Gospel! God’s Spirit, the Spirit of truth has been given to us. How often do we engage with His Spirit! How often do we simply pray Come Holy Spirit? For many of us, challenges lay ahead. Making decisions about what lay ahead can be very difficult if we do it on our own. But Jesus doesn’t want us to do it alone. He wants us to cling to Him and let His Spirit guide us to all truth. So whatever you are deciding, pray first: Come Holy Spirit! Be led by Him who loves you so much.
Welcome Bishop Malesic! This weekend we welcome Bishop Malesic, who will bless the Memorare Center at the 11:00 am Mass. We also welcome back Fr. Bline who will bless the Our Lady Help of Christians statue that will be placed in the building. Providentially, the Catholic Church celebrates her feast day on Monday, May 24. On Sunday, May 23, Deacon Richard Butz celebrates his 23rd Anniversary of Diaconate Ordination. Make sure to affirm and thank Dc. Butz for all the good work he does and has done at this blessed parish.
Congratulations again to Fr. Alex Clark! What a wonderful weekend it was to celebrate Fr. Alex Clark and his ordination to priesthood and his Mass of Thanksgiving here last Sunday. The ordination can be viewed online on our diocesan website (www.dioceseofcleveland.org) and His First Mass of Thanksgiving can be viewed on our website (www.sftparish.com). Here’s a picture of all the concelebrants, servers, seminarians and religious who supported him on his special day.
CDC Guidelines. In light of Governor Dewine’s decision to remove restrictions in the state of Ohio on June 2, Bishop Malesic and the bishops of Ohio just last week made the decision to remove the dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays beginning June 5 and 6. We warmly welcome all of you back to church on June 5 and 6! Mass will be without restrictions that day forward. Will fill you in with more details moving forward. This news is wonderful as we move forward with our new Memorare Center. Let’s fill all our spaces with joy and hope!
Lastly, don’t forget to vote for our new Parish Council nominees. Check out our nominees in the bulletin. Parish council members nominated these members of the parish to serve our parish in the next number of years. Please pray about which 3 you will vote on and vote next weekend, May 29 and 30.
May God’s peace and joy be with you,
